The more viewers that are sharing a piece of material, the greater quality it's most likely to be, and for that reason its position needs to increase within the search engine outcomes pages. It's no coincidence that the top-level search results page has the tendency to have lots of social shares, while those placed lower have less.
This, social shares can serve as a stamp of approval (ie, a count on signal) for site visitors landing on a page. It's likely that there's something of value if they see that it has hundreds or thousands of shares. That's a huge reason why so numerous companies are setting up social share plugins and motivating consumers to share as much as possible.
With lots of consumers feeling burned out by a continuous barrage of info and ads that shout "take a look at me", a few of the most ingenious online marketers are going the contrary instructions. The're now making efforts to tone-down their project messages and not overwhelm consumers with hype.
